Daintree Discovery Centre and Solar Whisper Wildlife Cruise
Inclusions: Pick up from hotel, transfers to Daintree Discovery Centre, One hour guided tour, lunch (sandwiches, tea, coffee, juice), transfer to Daintree River Solar Whisper Wildlife Cruise, afternoon tea (tea, coffee, cordial and biscuits), return transfer to Cairns hotel Pick up Cairns 8.45am approx; Return Cairns 4.00pm approx
Additional information: recommended that you bring a camera, hat and sunscreen, wear comfortable walking shoes – no heels or thongs/flip flops.
Experience the rainforest at every level – from the forest floor to the upper most reaches of the canopy at this world class, carbon neutral, interpretive facility. Nestled in the heart of the rainforest, two hours drive from Cairns, is the Canopy Tower, Aerial Walkway and Display Centre with information on ecology, flora, fauna and climate change.
Group Rainforest Tours and self guided Audio Tours (8 langeuages – English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Japanese, Cantonese and Mandarin) available. There’s also interesting information of how the traditional local Aboriginal people made good use of the plants and natural features of the rainforest.
Daintree Discovery Centre
A one hour Daintree River wildlife cruise on a quiet, clean solar electric boat. The small boat allows us to get into small rainforest creeks and get closer to nature – hear, smell and experience without noise and fumes! For camouglaged wildlife, we zoom in with “Croc Cam”, a digital video camera linked to an on board monitor. Crocodiles spotted on most tours and other wildlife possibilities such as snakes, frogs, fish and birds.
Normal tours depart 400 metres from Daintree Car Ferry at 9.30am, 10.45am, 12noon, 1.15pm, 2.15pm and 3.30pm.
